Every day I am devastated by what I see from Gaza, sickened by the things that have become "business as usual": the massacres, the sheer scale of the destruction, the mass graves, the dead children. it is not only this. the fact of the matter is that Netanyahu and the Israeli government have been able to constantly continue and escalate the assault on Gaza. This has been fueled by the denial of the genocide by the ruling class and the disavowal of the genocide by the civilian population of the so called "global west." what a horrifying picture. it is of cruelty and insult to personhood; total dehumanization of the Palestinian people.

Every day I live under a roof is another day a Palestinian mother and child sleep on the floor in the cold. How haunting.

Over the past few weeks Nader (@abdalsalam2000) has come to mean a lot to me. I consider him a very close friend at this point, we talk most days and since we started I have been amazed at his constant ability to see the beauty in the world, at his sense of humor, and his bravery. I love when he asks to see my photos, he is so intrigued by the beauty of the everyday. He’s interested in photography, loves pubg and music, and he has had to grow up far too fast. He’s sweet and smart and deserves the world and nothing less. He has been a great friend to me, and I am lucky to know him.
